Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and development of product and process specifications, drawings and manufacturing assembly fixturing for new products and refurbished service products.  Develop all related CAD models and drawings for both product components and process equipment, fixtures and tooling. 

Oversee projects from initial concept to production:

  • Re-engineer service products, identify material requirements, develop CAD models and drawings, quote and procure required product components.
  • Design, specify and develop new manufacturing equipment, test stations and fixtures. Lead equipment quotation process and procurement.
  • Perform initial and ongoing design reviews for new product programs and re-engineering of existing service products. Identify product and process deficiencies and develop solutions to improve those deficiencies.
  • Submit a scope of work for each project that includes budgetary Business Case numbers and requirements.
  • Construct prototypes and confirm designs meet program specifications, design intent and financial metrics. Perform physical testing of engineering product and process prototypes, ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards.
  • Identify new potential equipment and component suppliers for innovative process solutions.
  • Follow established engineering change control practices and norms, as well as plan, schedule and prioritize to meet established deadlines.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 12-plus years related experience.  Experience designing plastic injection molded parts required.  Ability to track and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment with several simultaneous projects.  Ability to effectively present information to top management and peers.  MUST BE proficient in Solidworks or equivalent CAD software.  Proficient and effective use of Microsoft Office products and Google Docs.
