Design, develop, procure, and install new manufacturing processes for complex assembly of new products. Develop overall project deliverables for new manufacturing lines to meet project requirements such as labor targets, thruput, quality, productivity, etc. Lead projects from initial concept to production; design, specify, and develop new manufacturing equipment, test stations and fixtures; identify potential equipment suppliers for innovative process solutions. Lead equipment quotation process and procurement; develop and implement manufacturing procedures, checklists, troubleshooting guides, work instructions, visuals, etc. Conduct process time studies to establish/improve manufacturing methods and establish labor requirements. Perform physical testing of engineering product and process prototypes. Develop and maintain plant layouts, floor space requirements, equipment capacity, and infrastructure requirements. Actively participates in Product Development Meetings to ensure DFM / DFA consideration; follow established engineering change control practices and norms; plan, schedule and prioritize to meet established deadlines. Lead the identification, development, tracking and implementation of continuous improvement projects to address key process metrics; support Quality Department in developing inspection criteria and evaluating defects, monitor effectiveness of error detection and error proofing systems; lead line balance studies and actively participates in improvements.
